Spring has (just about) sprung and there’s lots to do around the D.C. main streets this weekend! Here are some great recommendations:

Mount Pleasant Main Street

Each Peach Market will be holding its monthly sidewalk market on Saturday 3/19 from 10AM-2PM. This month’s market is also a launch party for their brand new, organic olive oil. Exclusively bottled for Each Peach Market, it is made from 100% certified organic Chetoui olives, which are handpicked, cold pressed, bottled and labeled in Nabeul, Tunisia in collaboration with SOCAB/Amore Trade, a woman-owned company and 3rd generation family owned business. Check out the market (Bold Fork Books, PLNTR, and Underground Goods will be there too!), meet the women behind the olive oil, taste the product (with lots of pairings of course), sip on some wine and celebrate!

Logan Circle Main Street

Los Angeles-based nonprofit Regarding Her (Re:Her) has kicked off its two-week-long food festival, which highlights female-owned hospitality businesses around DC. In Logan Circle, you can head to Cork Wine Bar to experience Kenisha Potts’ Pineapple Sage Jam on their artisanal cheese plates and to Ice Cream Jubilee to sample happy-hour themed ice cream tasting flights and flavor collaborations with other local women-owned food businesses. Check out the roster of special events and promotions happening throughout the city that will run through Sunday 3/27.

U Street Main Street

Keep the St. Patrick’s Day spirit going with the Lucky on U Street Bar Crawl on Saturday 3/19 starting at 2PM! Don your best green outfit for a day of bar hopping, drinking, and dancing at some of U Street’s best bars. Tickets start at $10 and get you $3 Bud Lights and $4 rail drinks at all participating bars. The first 200 people will get a free swag bag, plus there will be cool St. Paddy’s giveaways all day. Get your tickets HERE.

Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street

On Saturday 3/19, bring your children ages 1-18 to Children’s Hour from 12-2PM at Sankofa Video & Books to shop from a selection of FREE books. Created by Dr. Traci Wyatt, Children’s Hour will be an enriching shopping experience, allowing children to see a positive reflection of themselves not on in books, but in the community members and staff of Sankofa. Chevy Chase Main Street

Over the course of ten days the Avalon Theatre will present many of the Academy Award nominees in both the Best Picture and Best International Feature categories! Don’t miss your chance to see ALL the nominees before the Oscar broadcast on Sunday night, March 27th! See the films they will be showing and get tickets HERE.
